Mulan Studio, naked Home Village

naked Home Village is one of those hamlets that continue to tap at your heart and soul, long after you’ve descended the mountain, forever reminding you that it exists.  I can undeniably say that about my recent stay in Mulan Studio.  I was able to rid my neurotic mind of all those snarky “should’s” and focus on my own wellbeing, all while dismissing the holy mess that my current life appears to be. Which is exactly what I did. Without regret, I rested, read, wrote, walked, hiked up those treacherous 250 stone steps (REALLY?  Did you REALLY just say 250, Sandy?), ate delicious (but apparently not enough) food, drank delectable wines, coffees, and local tea. Although the weather was mostly overcast or rainy, I was still able to take in the magnificent, natural surroundings. Oh–and the staff is amazing.  Truly amazing.  A highlight of my stay was enjoying a cognac with a charming “local” in the lodge while having a random chat.

As I sat in the back seat of the car and the driver headed down the mountain, I surprised myself with a few somber tears, rolling down my cheeks.  I will return…

Bamboo Bungalow, naked Home Village

We had a great time at naked. This was a much needed escape from Shanghai. We enjoyed exploring the bamboo forest and sitting by the crackling fire. All of the staff were helpful, especially Richard, Sandy, Ayis and Porters. Now we feel refreshed and recharged and ready to conquer all! Thanks naked!

This place is a breath of fresh air both literally and metaphorically.
We’ve loved sharing your pieces of this beautiful mountain.
Thank you for looking after us so well and helping us truly relax + forget the hectic, somewhat stressful life in Shanghai.
Thank you especially to Richie and Richard, we enjoyed popping in for an evening beer and chat in front of the fire. You are doing a great job here.

A wonderful heaven. Fresh air, bracing hikes and home cooked meals. Excellent! We were here for three days and will take home memories of bamboo forests, endless sleeps and the light sweaping into the bedroom at sunrise and also sunset. A real find! Many thanks to ayis and staff.
